ABOUT THIS AUCTION: FOR SALE is a fine and IMPORTANT Art Deco period pastel of American Actress Norma Shearer, by noted American illustrator and fine artist F. Earl Christy. It was used as the cover for PHOTOPLAY MAGAZINE in APRIL OF 1930. Pastel on high grade paperboard. Signed lower right. Dedicated as a gift to Jim Quirk from "Jerry." From Jerry Quirk's estate. CONDITION: Excellent. Never cleaned and no damage or restoration. Just a touch of toning to paper lower right by dedication SIZE: painting is 13.5 by 17.5 inches. Original period frame is 19.5 by 23.5 inches. Original ART DECO frame is great condition, with just a touch of wear. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: The detail in this illustration is just amazing.
