ANTIQUE FRAMED OIL ON CANVAS SOLDIER PORTRAIT PAINTING Picture(s) and Description:

Antique oil on canvas portrait painting of a soldier done in a primitive style. This oil on canvas has been placed on a crudely made stretcher having likely been cut from its original stretcher. This is in as found condition. It has a heavy coat of gloss varnish and is well protected by it. We found no signature on this work and the artist is unknown. The frame too is a primitive style antique wooden one with a heavy varnish on it. There are holes at all four sides which go through as if someone mounted this frame prior to it being used for this painting. If the new buyer wishes, we can plug these holes and try to match up the color to make it more pleasing. Let us know via email if that is the case. Measurements are 14 by 17 inches art sight size and 18.62 by 22.75 inches framed. We are offering this piece with a low opening bid and no reserve.
